So how does this translate into real life? Women spend a lot of time and energy trying to please men. We learn early on that we are being looked at – that we are to be looked at. That we are performers. It took years before I actually started enjoying sex. YEARS. I think what I enjoyed most about sex, when I was younger, was the feeling of being desired. The actual sex part was super boring for the first while.

We learn, as girls and women, that the performance is more important than the actual feeling.

I would rather throw it away that give it to someone, because continuing to wear animal skins perpetuates the notion that animals are a commodity. The logic that you should respect the animal by wearing it because it died for it is like saying "well you should eat this hamburger because the cow is already dead."

Exactly what I was trying to point out! Using the excuse "well the animal already died" is pathetic. If that was valid, then it'd be perfectly fine for everyone to eat meat because the "animals already died". The point isn't that the animal is already dead, the point is that animals are continuing to die. It's ridiculous.

Isn't it funny which things people will get hung up on and drag their feet about? If that person thinks it's wasteful to throw away or bury leather shoes, she or he can take a different route. As long as she or he doesn't buy leather new in the future, I don't think many vegans are going to have a problem with it. We are just trying to create a better world for animals, decisions like that are merely distracting details.

Yeah, you're exactly right. Like I said, the damage is already done. Why is this even a debate? The whole point was I said that I, personally, wouldn't be able to keep them and would probably bury them or give them to someone homeless. Thanks for your message.
